At the foot of the mountain!

Tom says rice wine is apparently only 8 per cent and thanks for the note mum.

Lauren says hi banyards and craig.

Jack says Hi, anyone there? (though no one is listening cos his parents have gone away)

Travelled to the kinabalu park headquarters after a walk around kiau village this morning. Saw where they grow the rice wine we consumed last night. This was a bit harsh for those of us with slightly sore heads.

Yummy pineapple for breakfast along with noodles, rice, banana fritters and boiled eggs which everyone tells me do float (from a physics teacher my question was simply the reflection of a very tired person - not that I feel any need to justify myself - kay).

The village walk saw us buying wooden walking poles for kinabalu - there were the inevitable jedi light sabre impressions ! those of us with less sore heads walked around the botanic gardens and a walking trail this afternoon. Dinner was yummy - bolognaise, milo and cake for most.

More tomorrow depending on signal... We start on the mountain at 8.00am...

dahI've been wondering if you've made it to the mountain yet.
Did Vicky try any of the rice wine??
Not much to report from home really, just that I have had all of my staples removed. I won't bore you with any more details tho!
Hope that you all make it up the mountain and I will be very interested in how many steps Vicky takes compared to the tallest amongst you.
Keep safe
