The Headhunter's Trail

Off on a pretty walk through the forest today, on the headhunters trail.

Saw many a butterfly, some pitcher plants and many different types of tree and plant.

Just as we got back to camp 5, it started to rain quite heavily, soaking the next group to arrive at the camp.

We spent much of the afternoon playing card games, and using the scrabble letters to make many new and interesting words, many of which are not usually found in the oxford dictionary, but nonetheless are highly familiar to many teenagers and used in everyday conversation (!)

The rain is coming down very heavily now, and racing down the guttering and little concrete moats that are built around the camp to handle the water. If I was at home now I would be battening down the hatches and watching the back garden wash away.

With around a week to go now, there is much talk of culinary dreams of the comfort foods at home, and strangely not much yearning for rice, or noodles. Even toast was greeted with an abnormally high level of enthusiasm at breakfast this morning.
