A bit of local culture..

Well today, we were taken out to our homestay houses in the local village, this was after some afternoon cave tour action, and some chilling out in preparation for the culture show tonight.

This afternoon also saw vengence on the Welsh school team who are staying in the jungle planting trees for MESCOT - their repeated practising of their THREE guitar accompanied songs, spurred the TG boys into completely pasting them at volleyball. This was accompanied by a lively girls game against the female contingent of their team, though sadly the ladies were not so lucky and lost.

I take this opportunity to also mention Tom's secret passion for skipping, he joined the locals in some while the girls were fighting it out on the court.

The Girls cheerleading performance was easily topped by renditions by the boys of various football related chants during the girls game, when things quickly escalated to an England v Wales pride issue.

We followed up by an evening culture show, where our homestay hosts supplied us all with beautiful local costumes, James and Jake were particuarily dashing in their blue velvet and embroydered tops.

In typical TG fashion, our group called upon the trusty okey-cokey song and dance in order to deliver the requested performance each visiting group were asked to do, after the local songs and dances.

We shall be teaching Kay left and right again after she led our flawless unrehersed performance by putting the wrong ' leg in' - she blames her Salsa dancing lesson, and being forced to copy her clod-footed husband.

Our homestay family entertained us all also this morning by serving various local dishes for breakfast. This resulted in Simon experiencing a spicey moment due to failing to notice the chillis in his noodles.

Good to hear from you all again. Sounds like you are having fun with the locals. Hope you have taken loads of pics of the group in the local costumes!
What is happening to all our posts??? Are you still reading them?
Anyway, tell Vicky that her dad and brothers have gone off to Farnborough air show today. Dad bought his tickets and then lost them so he had to buy some more. Oh dear.

Hello Jack Attack - have you been showing your fellow borneo trekkers your hideous lump? It's a good ice breaker I'm sure and the ladies are bound to be keen on you after they have seen it. Hehehe. Hope you're having a splendid time - what has it been like so far - what was it like sleeping in the hammocks? Did the crocs try and eat you? Can you bring me back a monkey as a present? Your big sis. x

Stop whingeing Jack, you know we don't like you. In fact, we had forgotten all about you until we saw an orangutan.
Your Mother (and not proud of the fact)

Hi all,
Mum and dad say it was lovely to speak with rhea (& james)! glad to hear you are enjoying the local hospitality, though i wonder where all the musical ventures of theale green have gone in the talent show mentioned? Come on rhea and simon!!
Glad to hear the boys pasted the welsh counterparts, maybe leave the singing though!
Rhea, grandma sends her love, suzie sent a message to say talk to your family more on the blog, although it doesn't seem to have appeared on the blog and neither has mum & dads messages.
Glad to hear everyone is well, look forward to hearing more of your ventures.

Hey Rhea, James, Vix and the rest of the Borneo team! I've just been reading all the amazing things you've been upto! I'm very impressed! I have to say they sound a darn sight more fun than what I have been doing! We all miss you lots back here in rainy England.

Take care, and James look out for those frogs!
Rhea! :-) We went to see sheffield uni and the history man mentioned Evan Davies! Genny shouted out I LOVE HIM! And Stella and I hid under the chairs! Thought that may make you laugh! Can't wait to hear all about your trip! Your stories will be much more interesting than mine but I have lots to tell you!

Besos y Abrazos Lucy xxx
